School Year: 2012-2013
CUSTODIAN II
$15.27 - $18.57/hr.
ASSIGNMENT: School Year: 2012-13; Jefferson Elementary School - 5 hours per day split shift, Monday through Friday, 12 months per year. Regularly assigned shift is: 7:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Clean and maintain classrooms, offices, hallways, cafeteria, library, restroom; set up and take down furniture and equipment for meetings, assemblies, etc.; perform minor maintenance and other related duties as assigned.
NECESSARY EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS: High school diploma or equivalent; knowledge of custodial methods and materials; ability to understand and carry out oral and written directions; and maintaining cooperative relationships with those contacted in the course of work. Level I experience: None required. Level II experience: One year custodian or janitorial experience. Physical agility exam at expense of candidate is required and a current DMV report.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Environment: Indoor and outdoor environment; regular exposure to fumes, dust, and odors.
Physical Abilities: Standing for extended periods of time; bending and twisting at the waist; pushing, pulling, and lifting equipment, boxes, garbage cans, and furniture weighing up to 75 pounds; climbing ladders; reaching and working overhead.
Hazards: Exposure to dust and chemicals such as ammonia and bleach.
