Message from the Principal
Happy Holidays Roosevelt Roughriders.  I hope that you have a restful break and that you enjoy time with family and friends.

I am so excited about the academic growth I am seeing at Roosevelt School.  Our recent benchmark results were over 10% higher than benchmark results from one year ago.  I am equally excited about the level of parent and community support at Roosevelt.  Our recent successes are truly a result of hard working students, excellent staff, and strong family support.

I want to extend a special thank you to our wonderful Roosevelt parents.  You truly make a difference in the lives of your children as well as the learning community at Roosevelt School.

In November, close to 200 people including Roosevelt families and Hanford community members came together for our first ever Roosevelt Career Carnival.  After that special event, all sixth grade students created career and educational goals.

In December, approximately 150 people came together for the Winter Challenge.  We had a pizza dinner and then attended grade level sessions regarding reading and math activities for students and parents to do at home.  We challenged parents to require daily practice for reading and math facts over the winter break.

I look forward to working together for continued success in 2010!

TRUSTWORTHINESS
It is very important to be a person who always tells the truth, so that people can trust you. There are four parts of being a Trustworthy person – keeping your promises, always being totally honest, making sure your words and actions match up, and being a true friend. We will share more about each part of this pillar over the next few weeks.
